A Handbag treat container Challenge 55 at Completely Christmas

It's the weekend already and so far its been go, go, go. Went out early with our youngest daughter to a market and bought fruit and veg, then to pick up a hood for a baby carrier from a lady's house then back here to drop off the pram (which takes up all of my boot space) and then met my other daughter at Costco to buy a few items for her daugther's christening and 1st birthday party tomorrow. We went to her place for lunch and now back home for a short while to type up my post and let the other granddaughter get a nap. I still have to go buy the ingredients to make a carrot cake to use as the birthday cake tomorrow. But.....need a coffee first, lol.

Challenge 54 Completely Christmas

Another lovely day and so far I've spent time with both of my daughter's and my two youngest granddaughters. Started out here at home with youngest daughter and also youngest granddaughter calling in to make some hessian bunting as she is trying to firm up a date for their wedding next year and wants to start making decorations along the way for a vintage themed wedding. She bought a huge amount of lace in a second hand shop for a bargain price and I already had some hessian so we have been busy cutting the hessian and pinned it to the lace. She wants to stencil some heart on as well but we'll wait till we've got it sewn together and keep fingers crossed it turns out ok! Then we jumped in the car and headed out to a shopping centre about 30 mins from home to meet our eldest daughter and her little girl who will be turning one year old this month. We had lunch and a wander around the shops, back here so Rachel could get her car and drive back home in time for her partner to load up his musical gear for a practice and then a gig tonight. So...here I am typing away getting this post ready to share my DT card for Completely Christmas Challenge which has a new challenge starting today. I hope you come and join in and take the pressure off  yourself by slowly getting your Christmas cards or decorations etc done before the mad December rush.

Faster than a speeding Beetle Challenge #114 at 613 Avenue Create

Oops, I have been babysitting our two daughters little baby girls, one overnight Saturday and then the two of them together Sunday. We had to drive up into the hills after church and drop the 11 month old off to her other grandfather and then bring the 51/2 month old back home to be collected. The older one has a cold and I have a cold and I didn't sleep well as I ended up putting her in with me because after an hour of her crying between midnight and 1 p.m. she finally dropped off but as soon as I put her in the cot she started up again and I was pretty tired by then. Luckily she slept all night but I slept badly because I was aware of her beside me and she is a bit of a wriggler so I didn't want her to manage to fall out of the bed.
I'm backdating this post because it should have already been posted and I completely forgot to do it. I went to bed early at 9 last night, woke at 11 p.m. when our son and DIL came home, drifted off again, was awake again at 3 and then that was it for me. I ended up sitting in the back room at 6 a.m. having coffee then back to bed again about 7 and woke at 9 a.m. It's a public holiday here and I've only just popped onto the computer and was surprised to find that I had not posted my card for the new challenge at 613 Avenue Create , so here I am furiously typing away to get up to date again.
We are an Anything Goes challenge with an optional twist - this challenge's twist is: Use the March Birthstone colour ~ Aquamarine in your creation.
Our sponsors are A Day For Daisies and Doodle Pantry

Here is my card using a Doodle Pantry image

I did colour an image myself and one of my Copic Markers decided to give up the ghost and I thought after I put it all together that is was a bit streaky. I went to the craft shop and had it refilled and came back home and thought I would just touch it up. Bad mistake!!!! I got over near the headlight and the blasted thing leaked all over it - yep another overfilled marker. I really need to save up and get some more refills of my own, I'm fed up with colouring something and getting to the last little bit and then ruining the lot. Does anyone else have that problem? The craft shop need to train their staff better so this doesn't happen!

Recipe:
SU Tempting Turquoise for the basecard and matte
SU Peach Parfait cardstock for the matte
DP is from Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad -
Image is from Doodle Pantry - Classic Bug & Gas Can (this comes with several pre-coloured images, line images,  a few of sentiments, several papers and a gas can - this is a pre-coloured image)
Sentiment is from the same set
Happy Birthday image is from SU
Punches - large oval and wide oval
Memento Black inkpad
D/S tape and Foam Dots

I am entering my card into the following challenges (back later with some)

Now I hope you pop over to the challenge blog and check out my teamies' creations and we would love you to stop by and leave us a comment too. I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations this challenge so get inspired and get crafty!!!

Challenge 49 begins at Crafting From The Heart

Welcome to my blog today, I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was interesting, lol. Our youngest daughter's partner plays lead guitar in a couple of bands and one of them was playing at a hotel Saturday night so we booked a table for ourselves, our daughter and one of our sons and his wife and had a nice meal together and then sat there for the rest of the night listening to the band play. Our eldest son popped in and stayed for a while as well.  We got home around midnight and I hopped onto  the computer for a short while, went outside and locked up the shed (not impressed having to do that at 1 in the morning!) that youngest son had forgotten to do. I came back inside and was thinking I had better get some sleep and the home phone rang. It was Mum telling me she had called an ambulance because her nose had been bleeding profusely for an hour so I hopped in the car and drove over to her house. I got there before the ambulance (a busy Saturday night for them) and they decided to take her to hospital to have it checked out. Her blood pressure had soared to 210 as well. I went in the ambulance with them and she got seen straight away which was good. I stayed with her while they kept a check on her and then about 4 a.m. the doctor decided that she should stay in the emergency ward until morning so I headed out to the desk to ask them to ring me a taxi. Well....... a couple before me had been waiting over 30 mins for one and I thought I was going to have a long wait too. We have the Fringe Festival on in town at the moment as well as all the young ones out nightclubbing etc. Their taxi finally came and luckily mine was only about five minutes later. I picked up my car from Mum's house and got home about 5 a.m.  I got a bit of sleep and then went back to the hospital to pick her up. She's exhausted but okay and quite a bit out of pocket having to pay a huge amount to be seen at the private hospital. Her fund doesn't pay out on these sorts of services and the government apparently give back a very small percentage. It will be interesting to see how much that is.
Anyway we've both made up some of the sleep we lost and time to get back to some semblance of  "normality", lol.
It's time for another challenge at Crafting From the Heart Challenge Blog. This week we have Sassy Studio Designs as our sponsor and the challenge is as always - Anything Goes.
I used an image I already had and made a birthday card.....here it is.

Punches - EK success small star
             - SU office stationery? punch
             - SU ticket punch
