Silent Night, Holy Night Challenge 52 at Completely Christmas Challenges

Christmas challenge No 52  starting today at Completely Christmas Challenge Blog and this time our Twist is to include some texture. I've chosen to add some texture with some embossing and also using some homemade Gesso and a stencil. First time trying this and I think it worked out okay.
Our sponsor is Deedee's Digis and we had several images to choose from so I went with this cute caroling snowman (being a singer myself I thought it would go down well with my singing buddies) and Silent Night is one of my favourite carols too!
So here is what I came up with for my DT card........

Recipe:
SU Real Red Cardstock
SU Old Olive scraps
Blue card from stash
White card stash for image and sentiment
Image and Sentiment from Deedee's Digis - Caroling Snowman - pre-coloured image
Dies - Nestie Die - Deckled Rectangle ~ Large & Small
        - Cottage Cutz ~ Tree Mini
        - Top Note Die for the inside
Tim Holtz Stencil - Crocodile
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug Swirls
Homemade Gesso
Foam Dots
D/S Tape Roller

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown - Feb Stash Challenge - Markers
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Challenge 218 ~ Cut it Up (used scissors and dies)
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge -  Challenge 69 ~ Anything Goes with a twist - embossing wet or dry
Jingle Belle's - Challenge - photo inspiration (I used the swirls and the snow to inspire me)
Addicted to Stamps - Challenge #133 ~ Holiday
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges - Challenge #248 - Christmas Lets see some snowflakes (mine are some dots only but hope that counts - I see one of the DT have used only dots)

Looking forward to seeing everyone's wonderful creations this week.

Wonderful Fabulous You Challenge # 9 at Get Creative Challenges

We've had a cool change of sorts, lol. A lot cooler but still warm and a cooling breeze so the door and windows are open up again to try and cool the house down a bit. Our grandson came this morning and about 15 mins afterwards, he got a blood nose which dripped all over his nice white t-shirt and then about 30 mins later he rushed off to the toilet and had a bit of an accident there which he hasn't done for at least a year. To top it off, Mum forgot his spare clothes and the only thing I had here were some shortie pyjamas that I bought last summer. Luckily they still fit him and he has spent the day wearing them whilst his clothes flap around on the clothes line! It's been a fun day......
It's time for another challenge at Get Creative Challenge Blog and this time we want you to include some "Embossing" on your creation.
Our sponsor is - Lemon Shortbread and I got to play with this cutie for my card. Hope you like her and pop over to the shop and check out her other images.
Here is my card......

Recipe:
SU Crumb Cake cardstock
SU Real Rec Cardstock
White cardstock from stash for the image
DP is from Kaisercraft 61/2x61/2 paper pad Technologic (Red paper)
and the other is from My Mind's Eye 12x12 paper pad - Complete Boy
Image is from Lemon Shortbread - Gothic Lolita
Sentiment is from Close To My Heart stamp set - Fabulous You Seasons & Nature

Ring Out Wild Bells Challenge 51 at Completely Christmas

Well we are having a heat wave for the next two days with 40 C temps and just our luck, that the air conditioner packed it in this morning!!!! The house isn't quite unbearable yet and there seems to be a bit of breeze coming through the now open doors and windows but not sure how we will be coping after tonight, lol. I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. I had some bad news first thing this morning with a friend sending me a message about her husband who now has prostrate cancer. He has to have tests to see if it has spread and I'll be praying for a positive outcome for him. For those of you who have faith, I would appreciate prayers for my friend, her hubby and all of their family.
I had better get on with my sharing of my newest DT Christmas card for Completely Christmas Challenges this week. Our sponsor is the wonderful Bugaboo and I used this fab image of Christmas Bells. Our twist this week is : NO RED OR GREEN so I have used my favourite colour Purple to make my card.
Here it is........

SU Concord Crush cardstock for basecard
White cardstock from stash
Image is from Bugaboo Stamps
Sentiment is  from SU
Couture Creations embossing folder

Time for some R & R Challenge 47 at Crafting From The Heart

Hello once more, I seem to have pulled a muscle in my right shoulder which is sending shooting pains down my arm. I think it's a combo of sleeping in a different bed when we were away over the weekend and also rocking my granddaughter off to sleep sitting on the edge of the bed (no back support) and then lowering her into the travel cot which is a long way down for me because I'm short, lol. I realised late last night that I had completely forgotten to do my DT card so I was up quite late trying to colour and come up with a card design for the new challenge at Crafting from the Heart. Our sponsor this week is Karleigh Sue Designs and the DT team were given a choice of two images to work with so I chose this one. I'd love  to be able to sit back and relax and have a bit of a pamper, wouldn't you?
Anyway hope you like the card......

Recipe:
SU Concord Crush cardstock for basecard and matte on sentiment
Purplish Pink cardstock from DCWV - 12x12 Textured cardstock - Brights
White cardstock from stash for image and sentiment
DP from Rosie's Studio - 6x6 paper pad ~ fun & giggles
Image is from Karleigh Sue Designs -
Sentiment is from a freebie set of stamps - A taste of India by Sheena Douglass
Sizzix Bigz Die - Scalloped Square
Leaf Die cut was already cut and I can't find the die - I know it's somewhere and I probably just missed it when I was flicking through them trying to find it.
Flowers from Crafty Fox
Memento Black inkpad
Copic Markers
Tiny purple bling from stash
D/S Tape roller
Foam Dots

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Come and Get It Challenges -  Birthdays
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge - Challenge #4 - Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time - Challenge #230 - Anything Goes with Love
Robin's Fetish - Challenge #251 ~ Square Cards
Crafty Calender Challenge - February Challenge ~ Anything Goes
Digi Galore - Anything Goes
Kraftyhands Blog- Feb Challenge ~ Hearts & Flowers (hearts all over DP)

Well, need to go and rest my shoulder, I'm off to craft tomorrow and luckily it's not my turn to drive although I do have to hoist myself up into a 4WD vehicle. Hopefully my shoulder will be a bit better tomorrow and I will get more sleep than I did last night.
So......I hope you come and join in the challenge, it's always ATG and my teamies and I love to see all your wonderful creations.

It's RAK Day Challenge #111 at 613 Avenue Create

Hi, sorry I'm a bit late with my post today, I've been babysitting our 10 1/2 month old granddaughter since yesterday until late this afternoon and haven't had the chance to get on the computer. I hope you have had a lovely weekend break and maybe got some crafting in too.
Our new challenge starting today at 613 Avenue Create is ATG with an optional twist ~ to create something for a friend, neighbor, bank teller, teacher, mailman, etc.  A random act of kindness to make someone's day.
Our sponsors are Faery Ink DesignsFitztownOddball Art Stamp Co.  and Di's Digi Stamps
I got to choose this wonderful image from Oddball Art Stamp Co and had fun colouring it up. I picked it because the little character has the same name as a friend and she is the one I have made this for.
Here is my project, a little gift card holder........ I've made a diecut card to fit in the middle pocket with a promise of a little surprise for my friend. When the sun is out tomorrow I hope to get some pics of the inside to share.

Recipe:

Nestie Die - Deckled Rectangles ~ Large
SU Oval Punch, Leaf punch from Martha Stewart
Copic Markers
Flowers from Little Birdie

Vintage girl on bike Challenge 50 at Completely Christmas Challenges

Hubby, myself and our youngest daughter and granddaughter went down yesterday to Victor Harbour to stay with friends overnight and then we went to a charity auction this morning. It was forecast for 41C but it was very overcast and we didn't get the full effect of the sun until about 11a.m. and then we roasted!!!
I didn't buy anything as I was outbid on a tallboy set of drawers. Our daughter bought a small old folding table and a large print that she just wanted for the frame. She intends to use them for her wedding props (eventually) We stayed down there for lunch and then headed back home around 3:30p.m as we are babysitting another granddaughter overnight. So this is my first chance to sit down and do my post. I've got a headache from the heat which I'm hoping will settle down soon.
Anyway I had better get on with this post and share my card for Completely Christmas Challenges. Its ATG but we have a twist of ......Children and toys. Our sponsor this week is Dazzling Ace Designs - The Home of All Things Vintage and I chose this delightful picture to use on my card.

Recipe:
SU Crumbcake cardstock
White cardstock from stash for the image
Tiddly Inks Free stamp set for the holly and teddy
Kaisercraft Stamps - Yuletide for the sentiment
Image is from Dazzling Ace Designs
Corner Rounder
SU Choc Chip inkpad
Pearls from stash
Copic Markers
Wink of Stella clear pen
D/S tape roller
Foam dots

Might be back later with some challenges to enter.
We would love to see your creations over at the challenge blog this week and also on the DT blogs.
So come join in the fun and get those Christmas cards done too.

Bouquets Galore - Challenge 45 at Crafting From The Heart

Welcome to my blog, I hope you have had a wonderful day. Mine was busy looking after two of our grandies, One from our eldest son and the other from our youngest daughter. We also had another granddaughter for a short time while our oldest daughter popped out to the post office. She dropped in and left her two dogs here and took one of ours home and gave her a haircut. Missie definitely looks different with short hair instead of her scruffy look! Our son-in-law picked up a set of pet clippers second hand so our daughter is happily clipping away. She says she might be back tomorrow to get our other dog for a haircut too.
We had a late meal tonight, pork roast! When we went for our family dinner last night, we were supposed to have this roast, but our son took it out of the freezer too late and it was still partially frozen. So..... "Mummm... can you cook it and we'll come over for tea" So that's what I did and there were 6 of us here for the meal. We've just finished the dishes and I thought I had better come in and post my card for Crafting from the Heart Challenges which has a new challenge starting today.
