Last challenge for 2015 at 613 Avenue Create

Hi all, well Christmas is over but there's still left over food (and pudding!!!) to keep the festivities going a bit longer. Hope you all had an enjoyable time with family and friends. It was boxing day yesterday so town had sales and the suburbs had sales today. I went with one of my daughters and little granddaughter. We managed to buy shoes for her bridesmaids to wear, we both got a dress as we have another wedding to go to the week before Rachel's. It's a beach wedding so something a little more casual but still dressy was the criteria for our search.
Anyway, I had better get on and share the new challenge starting today at 613 Avenue Create before the day runs out. The Theme is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of using Music notes/ Lyrics or sheet music.
Our sponsors are A Day for Daisies, Oddball Art Stamp Co and Lacy Sunshine Stamps.
Here is my card.........

Recipe:
SU Real Red Cardstock for basecard, mattes, diecut and punched piece

Please come and join in the last challenge for 2014 and be in the running for a fab prize from our sponsors. Thanks for popping in and wishing you a Happy New Year....

Challenge #89 at Crafting From the Heart

I'm running late today, I've had a bad cold and haven't slept much in the last few days and to top it off we've been having a heat wave. Had to opt out from church on Sunday so no choir singing either but we had a wedding to go to in the middle of the afternoon. and I felt marginally better but took a wet flannel for the trip which took about an hour. Forgot the panadol but got some throat lozenges to suck on. We didn't know anybody there except for our son, dil and the groom, so just sat at our table and didn't mix so hopefully haven't passed on the bug to anyone else. We are having an electrical storm at the moment so it's pretty muggy and it's nearly 11 p.m. not sure if I'll get any sleep tonight either. Just too hot!!!!
So..... better get on and do this post as not supposed to use computers during electrical storms.

Challenge #152 at 613 Avenue Create

Our second to last day of Spring and it's been a lovely day. We've had a few bad windy days lately and a major fire up north of the city. At least two deaths, many injuries and lots of loss of property, crops, and livestock. Heartbreaking for those involved and made even harder in the lead up to Christmas.
Before I move on and share with you regarding the new challenge at 613 Avenue Create, I would like to send thoughts and prayers to all who have been affected by this tragedy.
So..... the new challenge at 613 Avenue Create starts today and the theme is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of using Paper Piecing Technique.
Our sponsors are Bugaboo Stamps and SLS Lines
I've used an image from Bugaboo Stamps and I'm also using the Twist..

Image from Bugaboo Stamps - Deacon-Piper  - I've paper pieced his hat using DP and cardstock, his hair with cardstock, his tunic -with DP, belt, hands and boots with cardstock.
The image does come with some music notes either side of it but because I fussy cut the image out and then adhered it to a diecut rectangle, I drew them in by hand so they are not accurate as per the original image

Dies - Die-namics ~ Pierced Rectangles and a part of a Kaisercraft die
Copic Markers
Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
D/S tape roller, tacky glue and foam dots

Time to hang the wreath - Challenge 87 at Crafting From the Heart

Hi all, hope you've had a great weekend. Mine was a bit up and down with not feeling 100%. Our DIL left to join our son in Japan to start their two week holiday before going onto Vietnam to surprise her family for another two weeks. Youngest daughter and my friend Rose came over today to once again do some more crafting for the wedding. We are nearly finished making all the bouquets, only have to bind them and add some ribbon tails. Then.....still have flowers for the groom and groomsmen and all the parents & grandparents. We are getting there! Lucky me woke up with a runny nose as well so I'm hoping it won't go into a full blown cold.
Anyway, onto sharing my DT card for the start of the new challenge at Crafting From the Heart. We are an Anything Goes challenge blog and this week our sponsors are Dis Digi Stamps and Beccy's Place.
We would love to see your creations this challenge so come join in the fun and be in the running for a super prize.
Here's my card.......

Recipe:
SU Tip Top Taupe
White card from stash for the image
Image from Beccy's Place - Aussie Wreath Set - (comes with some great Aussie sentiments too)
Copic Markers
SU Crumbcake inkpad
Bling (doorknob) from stash

Time for me to go get another tissue, lol and maybe a nice warm drink. Silly cold must be the fickle weather we are having. High temps for a week and now cold windy days, we even had rain overnight!!! It's nearly summer here so should be a bit more consistent than that!!!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and we really would like to catch your entries this week so please stop by and link up one of your masterpieces!!!
Take Care,
Hugs,. Sandyy

Hostess thank you gift or card - challenge #148 at 613 Avenue Create

Another busy weekend, yesterday we went to a friend's 30th and he had the theme of Octoberfest and had home brew beer and kransky sausages with all the trimmings. We dressed up in costume, I had a reddish wig with plaits, skirt, top and a vest that I made by cutting up a tank top and adding eyelets and a shoelace to tie it with. It was a good night. Then today we had church, lunch at home and then I joined in the bride & bridesmaid's gathering to talk about our daughter's wedding preparations. I brought home our little granddaughter with me afterwards to stay overnight as both Mum and Dad are going out to separate functions. I'm hoping she will sleep all night as she has already gone to bed about an hour ago and it's only about 7 p.m. here. I'm late posting due to the above activities!!!!
Anyway here is my card for the new challenge starting today at 613 Avenue Create - the theme is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of making a Hostess thank you gift or card....... Second Post today - My DT card for Crafty Girls Creations ~ Challenge 9

Oops, I nearly forgot to make this one, have been busy again babysitting. I had 3 yesterday, the 4 yr old grandson and one 1 yr old granddaughter and the 18 month old granddaughter. I had the boy and youngest granddaughter with me at my craft class which I teach on Wednesday mornings. They are not too bad but the little one was getting a bit tired towards the end of the class and to make matters worse one of my ladies who has had health issues and been away for quite a while turned up and two of the cards we were doing had either a digital element that I had printed off at home or was using a push out sheet from Lily of the Valley and it was a set of 3. One that I had made up for an example. We ended up being resourceful and tracing off the basic card pieces and there were extra D/S pieces so her card looked like the original in the end. So all went home happy!!!
Anyway that brings me to my card that I managed to get done whilst the two youngest were playing and grizzling in the cot in the family room. It took me a while in between getting drinks for everyone and settling disputes, lol.
Now onto the new challenge at Crafty Girls Creations starting today - Our sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps and I used this stamp that I purchased a while back.
Please scroll down and check out my first post of today and see what I created for another challenge blog.

Happy Fall - Challenge #146 at 613 Avenue Create

It's a hot day today here but the house isn't too bad. Had church this morning and ended up having to do a big loop around the city to get there as they had blocked off the main street into town for a community event. So......myself and everyone else that was out and about took a lot more time to get where we all wanted to go!!! I suppose the important part was that I did get there in time to change into my choir uniform and practise before going in to the service. I came home the same way and took just as long to get home, lol.
Well onto my card for today and also the new challenge at 613 Avenue Create. It's Anything Goes as usual with an Optional Twist of Creating Your Own Challenge from the chart ~ The Sights & Activities of Autumn.
I decided to use the twist and have included a few of the many different elements from the chart. Our Sponsors for the challenge this week are: Melonheadz Illustrating, Morgan's Artworld & STAMPlorations.

Here is my card using a STAMPlorations image......
I used pumpkin, indian corn, scarecrow, crows, leaves and sunflowers.

 Recipe:
SU Early Espresso cardstock for the cardbase and mattes
SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the mattes
DP was an internet find (both the autumn leaves and the tree with the crows)
Pumpkin framed image is from STAMPlorations and is called Framed Pumkin
Sentiment is also from STAMPlorations and is from a set of 3 called Fall Sentiments
Sunflowers were from Robyn's Fetish
Corn and the scarecrow were  internet finds
Fence Diecut (sorry have to find it, I already had it cut and in my diecut stash for easy use)
Copic Markers for the pumpkin, scarecrow, corn and sunflowers
D/S tape roller and foam dots

Here is the chart for you to check out all the different things you could use on your creations.......

Hubby has decided to come home after being out all day on a motorbike ride with his club so I had better go see what he is up to and work out something for our evening meal.
Please pop in to the neighborhood at 613 Avenue Create and check out all the wonderful DT makes and we would love to see you dropping off an entry this week.

Challenge 81 starts today at Crafting from the Heart

A productive day crafting with my daughter today. We made decorations for her wedding. She now has 3 cute suitcases to use as her card box. we decorated the top one with some lace that we tea dyed and printed the letters out in a fancy font to spell out cards. trimmed them into rectangles and distressed inked the edges. Also inked some little pegs to use to attach them to some twine for the inside top of the suitcase. Then we decorated a very large coffee jar with some hessian and the rest of the dyed lace and added a pretty lace and hessian flower. Back to the computer to print out a tag saying Advice Jar and then again to make some little cards to go into another old box for people to write on. Then after that we got back to sewing those doilies onto the sheer curtaining for her photo booth. We still have quite a few to do!!!
Anyway.......back to the real reason for my post and that is to let you know that a new challenge started today at Crafting from the Heart challenge blog. Challenge #42 at Aud Sentiments

Hi everyone, a busy day today looking after grandchildren, extra fur babies and having the police raid the house across the street for a drug crop. The man that lived in the house previously drank too much and was conned into signing something when he went into business owning a pub of all things. A lenghty court case and after about 3 years he had to give the house up as it had been sold from underneath him years ago. He would be horrified to know the new owners had set it up inside to grow drugs. What a crazy world we live in!!!!!
I thought I would get a start on writing up my 2 posts for today whilst the grandies are watching some tv. I had four of them here yesterday and these 3 stayed overnight with us. We were going to have a picnic at our local school but after preparing everything one of the girls was complaining about an upset stomach so we came back home and picnicked on a blanket on the front lawn instead. They still enjoyed themselves.
Our sponsor this challenge is Doodle Pantry  and the theme is Halloween
Here is my card using digi paper, sentiments and one of the pre-coloured images from the set....

Recipe:
SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock
Purple cardstock from stash
White cardstock from stash
DP, sentiments and Pre-coloured Image are all from Doodle Pantry - Spooky Worms
Nestie Dies - Standard Circles - large and small
D/S tape roller and Foam Dots

I am entering my card into the following challenge:
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Challenge 332 ~ Autumn/Halloween/Thanksgiving/Bonfire Night
DL ART - Challenge #166 ~ Halloween

Time for me to pop up the shops and get some cold meat to make the youngsters some lunch before they go nuts, lol. I can leave them here with my DIL(not their mum) so I don't have to make sure everyone has seat belts on. It will be quicker that way.
Please come and join in the challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog this fortnight and check out the DT cards, My teamies and I would love to see you stopping by our personal blogs as well.
Take care,
Hugs, Sandy

Halloween month is upon us....a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges

Our theme this week at Get Creative Challenges is Halloween and the sponsor is: The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette. New Sponsor at Crafting From the Heart Challenge 79

It's been a lovely day for the first day of the school holidays. I had our 3 oldest grandchildren to look after today and we decided to take a picnic lunch over to the school playground near us so we could enjoy the sunshine and also for the kids to have fun on the play equipment. We came back home and the two girls decided they wanted to be creative. The youngest stamped and coloured with Marvy Markers and the oldest girl decided to draw a character and colour her in. Young Isaac also did a colourful drawing after we all told him how to use my markers without damaging them!!!
Now it's time for me to let you know about the new challenge starting today at Crafting From the Heart. It is as usual an Anything Goes Theme and we have a new sponsor as well. Fab creations from:  The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette .
Here is my creation using one of her images.......

Recipe:

My second post for today - Challenge 5 at Crafty Girls Creations

Another post for today, please check out my previous post to see my latest Christmas card and get the challenge details.
This post is to share my DT card for Crafty Girls Creations - the challenge is run fortnightly and is an Anything Goes Theme, so get your supplies out and create something to join in with us. If you head over to the challenge blog you can see all the fab makes from the DT. Our sponsor for this challenge is a new one for us - it's Dmitry of FabrikaFantasy
Here is my card.........It was a bit dull outside when I took the picture so I brightened it up slightly. In both pictures(the untouched one and the brightened one), the colours aren't quite true. Take the treasure chest for example I used a couple of shades of brown copic markers and it came out purple, lol and the DP should be a duller blue as well.

Recipe:
SU Hello Honey cardstock for the cardbase
Black cardstock from stash
White cardstock from stash to print images and to stamp the sentiment
DP from SU 12x12 paper pack ~ High Tide
Image from FabrikaFantasy ~ Pirate Parrot 1 - I made lots of copies so I could cut pieces from each to 3 D the parrot. You can't really see that in the picture but I think it looks ok in real life. I used the precoloured image with the background and just cropped it to create the extra images - that way I already had the size of the parrot right!!!
Sentiment is from Close to My Heart set - Kaboom
Punches - two different sized circle punches
Copic Markers
SU Pacific Point inkpad
D/S tape roller and Foam Dots

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

That's it from me, I have to go and organise Christmas music books for choir tonight. Yep, we just finished all our rehearsals for Mozart Requiem Mass and performed the work on Sunday afternoon and now we will be preparing our Christmas Music and maybe starting on a couple of Japanese songs for our concert tour in Japan next year. Looking forward to going, I've been in the choir for nearly 16 years and this is my first overseas trip with them. They did several before I started and some of the choir went last year to America but I chose not to go for financial reasons. There have been several planned trips that have fallen through for various reasons over the years, but this one is going ahead and we are all just waiting on a few more group arrangements to be finalised before we have to start paying!

We would love to see you stopping by the challenge blog and entering a creation into the challenge. Don't forget to check out all the DT cards and maybe pop into our personal blogs and leave a comment as well.

Challenge 77 at Crafting From the Heart

Another busy day sewing doilies onto the curtain for my daughter's vintage style wedding next year. It is very time consuming. She left several hours ago and I continued sewing till about 30 mins ago. Even forgot that my grandson was asleep still. If you don't wake him up he just sleeps on!!! I don't think he is 100% we;; at the moment. So, this is my first chance to pop in and write up today's post. (Still have to cook our evening meal, it's going to be a late one!)
Anyway, I've made another male card. I don't do a lot of them so thought it would be good to boost my stash. Our sponsor at Crafting from the Heart this week is Deedee's Digis and I chose this fab image to design my card with.
Here it is........I enlarged the image and printed straight onto the cardstock so I could fold it into a square card. I then cut around the image reducing the front of the card. I added an embossed panel on the inside which you can see behind the tool box. Coloured with Copic Markers and added some black bling for the studs on the hammer and pliers. I think it turned out fairly well.

Recipe:
White cardstock from stash
Image is from Deedee's Digis ~ Tool Time
Sentiment was computer generated straight onto the image
Die'sire Embossing folder - Gun Metal
Nestie Die - Deckled Rectangle for inside the card
Copic Markers
Bling from stash

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
