We would love to see plenty of entries this week and don't forget all you need to do is to pop in to some of the other entrants' blogs and leave a comment to be in the running for this week's prize from our sponsor ~ StampArt Design by Kathryne
Congrats go to Skye as our featured artist this week and also to Diana who won the prize offered by last week's sponsor. Enjoy!
We are so lucky to be able to choose a digi from Kathryne to create our DT cards. I chose this digi called Autumn Delight which is a new release for September. I enjoyed colouring it up to use on my card.
I stuck with Autumn colours to create my card to share.....

Front of card.... I think I could probably use this card for several occassions as I didn't put a specific birthday greeting on it. Maybe would be nice as a Get Well card or something to cheer someone up!

Inside of card.... I added another flourish but chose to do it in Kraft cardstock and flip it the opposite way so it hugged my circle diecut.

A Pop Up Giftcard Holder Card for Dana's Wedding

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend, it's late Saturday night here and we've not been long home from my husband's niece's wedding. It's been a long day, We had to be ready to leave here about 10:20 a.m. but we were running a bit late. One of our sons and his wife came here to come with us and we had to pick up another daughter. I realised I had left the card (which also included a gift of money) at home and we had to come back to get it. We were heading up into the hills to their wedding ceremony on private property in a forest. There was an accident in the Adelaide Hills and traffic had to be diverted so there were delays and detours which meant a lot of quick thinking and map revision to work out how we were going to get there. We only had an hour to get there from when we left home and didn't think we were going to make it but we arrived with only a couple of minutes to spare only to find out the bride had planned to be 30 minutes late anyway. They had problems with one of the wedding cars not working and were an hour late!!! It was freezing in the forest and not easy to walk quite a long way in to where the ceremony was held. I had heels on and a lovely dress which I covered up in the end with a red coat (but froze anyway) It was supposed to be a 12:00PM service and we hadn't eaten. Ended up eating about 2:45PM and then had to fill in time until the reception at 5:30PM. The grand final game of football was on and a couple of us didn't want to walk around anymore so stayed in the pub we had lunch at until reception time. The reception was also outside so more time being really cold and sinking into the soggy grass, my shoes have mud all the way up to the sole! So twelve hours later we are home and I'm now warm sitting here in my PJ's typing away. It was a nice wedding and the bride looked lovely in a vintage style lace gown and veil. She had made pretty bunting using vintage doilies and had jars of flowers and served soft drinks in glass jars of all different sizes and shapes.
Well, I am thinking of heading off to bed now so will share a couple pics of the card I made them. This is the first time I've tried making a Pop Up Gift Card and enjoyed making it. I tried to make it a bit vintage style for her with the papers and doiley diecut. I have a stamp of a victorian bride, but couldn't find it when I started making this card last night so went with this image which is a bit more modern. Probably just as well because I bought the other one second hand and had quite a bit of trouble getting it to print properly, if I remember right, I pulled it off the wood in the end and mounted it onto some stamping foam to use on a clear block.

Okay, here is the card.........she loves blue and the wedding was themed with this colour so used lots of blues on her card.

Close up of the sentiment on the inside...

       - Nestie Dies - Romantic Rectangles, Classic Circles ~ small  and Captivating Squares

I made the little envelope and popped the money into it, you can see it peeking out. We decided on cash as it means they can go to any shop to buy something or they can use it for spending money on their honeymoon.

PSC93 We three Snowmen

Hi everyone, today marks the start of a new challenge at the Perfect Sentiment and the theme this week is "Snowflakes" Why not join in the fun and make another card for your Christmas stash.
While I'm writing this my little grandson is tinkling on the piano, whoops, he's just taken off with his plastic lawnmower so it is quiet in this room for the time being, lol.
Here is what I came up with for this week's DT inspiration, Hope you like it! I've also decorated the inside but have to go and find something flat to go in the middle of my snowflakes so will add a picture later.

Reciped:
SU Bashful Blue cardstock for the basecard and the diecut
White card from stash
White pearlised textured card from stash for snowflakes, swirl and mattes
DP - the front one is from Bo Bunny - Powder Mountain collection and the one behind it was from stash (I've lost the packaging but  they were about an 8x8 set of papers ~ Christmas themed)
Image is from Stamp-it - a stamped image given to me by a friend
Nestie Dies - Captivating Squares, Classic Circles ~ large and small (the small one is on the inside)
Punch - Ticket
Memory Box Die - Frosty Border
Cuttlebug Die - Snowflakes#2
Ticket from an internet find and I stamped the sentiment into it.

Vintage Cards to Share

Hi everyone, thought I would share the cards I made last Tuesday at Shirley's house. Shirley normally makes up 3 card kits and we stamp and colour and put together. This time it was just the two of us and as she has had a bit on her plate lately,  she put out some of her pretty papers and postcard toppers from Kraftyhands on the table for me to play with while she coloured in a DT image for Make It Monday where we are both teamies. There is no craft today as her daughter and SIL and grandies are here to visit her and I think she and Doug will be pretty busy entertaining and being entertained too. LOL.

This first one is a wonderful vintage card for a Male. Love the muted browns of the DP paper and the fab vintage postcard topper. I adhered it on an angle and added the SU sentiment which was stamped, cut out by hand and placed onto Old Olive cardstock and then punched with the matching punch ~ also from SU.

This second one is going to be for my Mum (who reads my blog~just pretend you haven't seen it when you finally get it, LOL) I love the fresh daisy paper and these fab horses. I chose not to add a sentiment to this one as I really wanted the horses to be the main focus. After rummaging through Shirley's copious amount of flowers, I finally found one to go with my card and then it took us another five minutes or so to find something to put in the middle. All the bling that might have matched were just too small.  Shirley had these little round white discs that already had a piece of adhesive on the back and she coloured it with a Copics Marker to match it in with the paper.

This last one is a take on one she did as a DT card for Krafyhands, using the same paper and general layout, but I changed the bottom section slightly by adding a sentiment in the middle and some pearls on the top and bottom of the panel. I just love this wonderful floral paper. Just gorgeous!!!

It's been a while since I have posted something other than DT cards, so I've enjoyed sharing with you some of the other things I have been making. Next term I will be teaching a few different Christmas things, so I will be able to share them too after my class have done them.
Have a great day and thanks for popping in.
Hugs,
Sandy

MIM#159 A Stitch In Time with Rick St. Dennis

Well the weekend has finished and a new day has begun. Yesterday I went off to church in the morning with my hubby and they had a church luncheon to raise money for a mission hospital in India that they have been sponsoring for about 12 years. We came back home, hubby went off and bought a trailer and I went shopping for some food to take up to our son's for a barbeque. Adrian left before me so he could mow the lawn before we got there and I boiled up some eggs to curry, made a salad and cheese platter, threw in a yeast bun. I grabbed the two dogs and headed out as well. We had an enjoyable night with all the family and I offered to bring our youngest grandson home with us for the night as he is normally here Mondays anyway and will save my DIL some time getting organised in the morning.
It's time for a new linky party to begin at Make It Monday .    We had so many wonderful entries last week and are hoping for lots more this week. I hope you are managing to get to some of the other blogs and check out the wonderful creations!

PSC92 Find Me Some Fall - Perfect Sentiment DT Card

Once again I feel as though the year is flying past at such a rate that it will be soon Christmas. Here in Adelaide the big department stores in town have decided to bring out their Christmas Trees and decorations to tempt people into spending. It's just plain crazy!!!
It's Springtime here, the last 24 hours have been windy and wet and as I sit here typing my post it's 11:30 pm Tuesday night and I can hear the wind whipping around outside making all my husband's bit and pieces of junk - oops, I meant really useful stuff, LOL,  shake, rattle and roll.
A new challenge is starting at The Perfect Sentiment and the theme is "Find Me Some Fall".  I love the rich colours of Autumn and have used the rusty red and orange in my card.

Here it is....... this is an aperture card. I used my nestie's to cut a hole through the front of the card and then added the image on the inside of the card. I used two nestie dies together to form the scalloped frame around the opening.

MIM#158 Who Needs Therapy

Make It Monday Time!!! It's been mostly a lovely week weather wise but woke up early this morning to heavy rain and felt like staying in bed!!! Couldn't be done though as it's a babysitting day today and little Isaac turned up just after 9 a.m. I've turned the television on to the ABC channel so I can finish off my post. I finally managed to get to church yesterday and the choir were pleased to see me as there were only 5 ladies and no men at all. The anthem was a song I knew so managed to sing it okay. Hubby had gotten up early and went to look at a swap meet and then came back home and got his motorbike and went on a ride with a motorcycle club he is in. He didn't get home till after 6 p.m. so I had a lazy afternoon watching a couple of films. Hope you had a great weekend!!!
Well better get on and share my card for today, I had fun colouring this one up and I love the sentiment that goes with it. Friends can always help when your feeling a bit blue and it's great to have a good laugh and a catch up.

PSC91 Thankyou card using Stitchy Bear Digi

A lovely warm Wednesday although rain has been forecast for today. It really has turned out to be a beautiful Spring Day and I've got two loads of washing out on the line!
Today is the start of a new challenge at The Perfect Sentiment Challenge Blog and the theme for this one is to make a Thank You Card. Please don't forget it needs to be a card and needs to have the sentiment on the front as well.
Here is my card using a little bear who is under the weather. A thankyou card to someone who's been to visit or sent well wishes! I wanted to use a different sentiment with Thanks for Making Me Smile, but as my craft room is in desperate need of tidying, I couldn't get to one of the drawers where I keep some of my stamps. It's blocked at the moment with a chair chock a block with magazines!!!  I need a bit of spare time to sort them out and find a spot for them. Do you have problems like this. I think I am going to have to cull some of my other craft books to find space.
I took another photo, this one is taken  outside and I think is a bit better than the one that is on the challenge blog. Shows the colours up a bit better.

Recipe:
SU Peach Parfait cardstock for the basecard
Blue cardstock from stash for matte
SU Daffodil Yellow cardstock for matte
DP is a piece from stash, I don't know who made it
Image is Boo Bear from Stitchy Bear
Sentiment is from SU
Oval Punch and Scalloped Oval Punch
Card Candy from stash
Copic Markers
DS tape roller
Foam Dots

Time to go hang out that last bit of washing. I hope you get motivated this week to do a bit of cardmaking and join in with our challenge at The Perfect Sentiment. The DT love to visit your blogs to get closer looks at your wonderful creations and to leave you a comment.
Thanks for stopping by,

MIM#157Howdy with Milk Coffee

It's Monday! That means Linky Party Time at Make It Monday. A busy couple of days with DT posts. I would love it if you scrolled down and checked out the last two posts and would like it even better if you left a comment too.
This week we are being sponsored by Milk Coffee and I used a cute image of a cowboy. I've included the link in the card recipe.
Congratulations go to COREYSNANA1 as the featured artist this week and also to Pat K as the winner of last week's fab prize.
I was away over the weekend at a holiday house on Hindmarsh Island which is on the river. Our SIL's boss owns it and let him have it for free which was really kind of him. It had 5 bedrooms, with 4 queen size beds and a set of bunks and two single beds. The family was invited, but in the end there were 3 of us on Friday night and then hubby and youngest son came Saturday arvo (hubby had to work) and then we left just before lunch Sunday. We came home a very round about way as my DH decided he wanted to visit a friend (who ended up not home anyway) so a trip that should have taken about 1 1/2 hours turned into 2 3/4 hours and as I didn't sleep well the night before I was really bushed when we finally got home. Take-away food for tea, some catching up with blogging and a start on this post and then off to bed!
I had better get on and share the card with you.
Here it is..........

SU Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for the cardbase
SU Coastal Caban for the mattes and photo corners

MIM#156 Making MemoriesWith Saturated Canary

Monday is here again and it means the start of a new linky party at Make It Monday. Wow, we had lots of wonderful entries last week and I enjoyed visiting lots of your blogs and getting a closer look.
Congratulations go to Nancy as our featured artist from last week's entries and also to Wendy who was the winning commenter. Enjoy your prize!
Hubby and I went to his cousin's house and enjoyed catching up with lots of his relatives on Saturday. They had a Christmas in July get together and then yesterday was Father's Day here in Sth. Australia. Both our father's have passed away but we got together with our 5 children and spouses/boyfriend and the 3 grandies and went to The Big Rocking Horse up in the Adelaide Hills. It's a huge rocking horse you can climb and there is a wooden toy factory and a little animal sanctuary. All free to go to except if you want to feed the animals you can buy a small bag of pellets for $2. The kids (and the big kids, lol) had fun hand feeding the sheep, ducks, kangaroos, goats, alpacas and the chooks. The goat I fed grabbed the paper bag I had while I was trying to help our grandson feed him and I lost all the pellets!!! He enjoyed the mouthful of paper he got!
