PSC89 Goodbye Summer/Hello School

Hi all, it's been a lovely day here again even though they forecast rain. It has only just began to rain now at this late hour. I was supposed to schedule my post for earlier today, but due to some health problems with my DIL I have been looking after our youngest grandson. He has been staying with us for a few days. He is  just over 2 and cute to boot and an active little fellow. He is really good and still will go off and have a couple of hours sleep after lunch.
Well I had better get on and share my DT card for the challenge that started today at The Perfect Sentiment Challenge Blog. We would love to see your creations, so why not make a card to share with us. Don't forget, it must follow the theme and needs to have a sentiment on the front of the card.
Here is what I made......

Recipe:
Purple card from stash
DP and embellishments were from Kaisercraft  ~ Class of 87  ~  61/2 Paper Pad
( I cut some of the elements from the papers and some were pushout embellies.

Sorry, I meant to schedule this post but have been rather busy. I had to go to Murray Bridge today with my daughter and DIL to a kitchen tea for my niece who is getting married in 5 weeks.
It takes about an hour to drive there on the freeway and another few minutes to find the place. We had a good time and have just got home and I'm pretty bushed!!!
The theme this week at 613 Avenue Create is to make a card using different elements from a chart which I will add further down in my post. We have been sponsored by Shelly's Images and also The Paper Shelter. I have chosen to use a Paper Shelter Image called My Cute Rottweiller.
Here is what I made.....
I used image, sentiment and patterned paper from Column 1
Die Cut and Paper Punch from Column 2
Glossy Accents from Column 3
Buttons from Column 4
Ribbon, Twine and Faux stitching from Column 5

Recipe:
Brown cardstock from stash
DP from Kaisercraft

PSC88 Hugs with a Snowman - No Red or Green

Hi everyone, it's been bitter here in Adelaide the last couple of days. Rain, wind and cold, cold. cold!!!
I've been out today to craft this morning to teach, home for about an hour to have lunch and change into my choir uniform and then raced back out to pick up a friend and then off to sing in a concert. They had afternoon tea afterwards and I thought I would have a sandwich! It was on wholemeal bread with the crusts chopped off. I took one bite and thought what the heck is that. I pulled the bread apart and there nestled on the margarine spread was lots of chunks of glace ginger. YUK!!! That's something I would never put on a sandwich. Unfortunately I had to swallow the bit in my mouth, but the rest went into the dish with the used tea bags, LOL.
I've come home and realised that I forgot to schedule my post for the new challenge at the Perfect Sentiment which starts today. The theme this week is to make a Christmas card without using the traditional colours of Red and Green. Oh how my fingers itched to pick up those two colours but I didn't and I think my card turned out okay in Blue, Orange and white. The image I've used is one of the ones that is being offered as part of the prize this week.

So, here's my card.......

Front of card-

Inside of card
Recipe:
SU Midnight Muse cardstock for the cardbase
SU Tangerine Tango cardstock
White cardstock from stash
DP is from Bo Bunny -  Snow Day collection
Image is one of the prizes this week.

Sentiment was from another freebie set
Dies - Nestie Fleur De Lis Rectangles and Curved Rectangles
Copic Markers
Crochet Thread
Punches - 1/16 hole punch, oval punch
DS tape roller
Foam Dots

That brings me to the close of my post and the beginning of the challenge at the Perfect Sentiment. We would love to see your entries but don't forget it must be a card and it must have a sentiment on the front.

MIM#154 Father's Day is coming up with Bugaboo

Well, it's Monday once more and time for a new linky party at Make It Monday. I hope your weekend was an enjoyable one. It's been quite cold, wet and windy here in Adelaide. The craft group I go to was cancelled on Saturday so a friend and I went to a craft shop instead. We got down there and found they didn't open till 11 a.m. so sat in the car in the warmth for 30 mins until they did. We stopped at a bakery on the way home and had a delicious pasty. They are one of the top manufacturing bakeries here and run a 24 hour cafe on their premises that is always busy. My youngest son has often told me he is going to meet friends in the early hours of the morning at Villi's, LOL.
I managed to get to church for the first time since before we went to Vietnam. Didn't get there in time to join the choir though as I didn't sleep well the night before due to my back still being a problem on and off and we were running late.
Okay enough chatter and onto the new linky party and I want to share my DT card with you as well.
Congrats go to Ziggy as our featured artist this week and also to Kim as the winning commenter. We had lots of wonderful entries to visit and I enjoyed seeing lots of different cards. I hope you managed to pop into some of the other entrants blogs and leave some comments. Don't forget we too on the DT love to hear from you so if your popping in, please leave us a comment.
This week we are being sponsored by a favourite digi maker, the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps. They are offering the winner a wonderful prize of 7 single digis!!!
So.... onto my card. I chose this image as it will be Father's Day coming up in a few weeks and this image looks just right although a friend of mine said if any of my kids wanted to give it to Dad I would have to draw a beard on him, LOL. I think I will give it to my grandchildren and they can give it to their Dad instead!

MIM#153 Ready for Adventure with StampArt Design by Kathryne

Linky Party Time again at Make It Monday and we have a wonderful sponsor this week named Kathryne from StampArt Design by Kathryne, make sure you pop over to her site and check out her delightful images.
I had a great time visiting some of your blogs last week to check out your entries and to leave comments. Did you make it to my teamies blogs to leave them some blog love?
Congratulations go to Cass as our featured artist from last week's entries and to Faye as the winning commenter. Enjoy your prize!!!
I've made two new type of cards in a row, a circular step card yesterday(scroll down to check it out and maybe leave a comment so I know you've been) and today's card is a recessed window (box) card. I watched a tutorial for a square card and decided my image needed a rectangular card so I sat down and worked out how to make it that shape instead. I think it worked out okay! I've also decorated the inside using the same DP and a diecut for writing on. ( Haven't scanned that yet)
I got to play with this cute little Indian bear paddling his canoe. I had fun colouring him. Not real sure about the background as I chose to brayer it with ink after I had coloured the image. I had to make a mask for the little bear and I also punched a circle to mask the sun too. I sponged the sun with SU Daffodil Yellow Ink. The card looks better in real life than it does in the picture. I tried to scan it but that was worse because of the recessed area. I added some tree diecuts and a "real" bear digi I had in my files, I can't say who made it because it was from when I first started saving digis and hadn't put the artist's name with them.
So onto the card........

Recipe:
SU Early Espresso cardstock
DP is from Kaisercraft 61/2 x 61/2 paper pad - Cock-a-doodle-doo
Image is Little Bear Canoe from StampArt Design by Kathryne
Sentiment is from Kathryne as well - comes from a bonus sheet of sentiments, plenty to choose from.
Bear image is from my computer files (don't know artist's name)
Tree Die is from Marianne Design Creatables
Cloud Die is from Sizzix Thinlits
Circle Punch to make mask for the sun
Copic Markers
SU Inkpads - Daffodil Yellow, Pacific Point, Brocade Blue and Ballet Blue
DS tape roller
Tacky Glue

Now for a special part of my post where I can choose to feature an entry or two.
For my POTW I have chosen this cutie from Lisa Jane at My Makes "n" Me and you can find it here

and also a second choice which is from  Jodi at Kaboo Designs and can be seen here
Jodi has actually cut the word "wish" out by hand, not a machine, LOL. just fantastic fussy cutting!!!

Once more it's your time to inspire us and share your work with the world, LOL. My fellow teamies and I love seeing your creations. I hope you make the time to stop by and leave us a comment or two as well and also some of your fellow entrants. Remember to be in the running all you have to do is comment on some of the other entries this week.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy

Our little bookworm - Challenge #32 - 613 Avenue Create with Lacy Sunshine

Well the weekend is nearly over, I managed to get to Saturday craft yesterday and catch up with my friends who I haven't seen since before our holiday to Vietnam. My back is still not quite right and I can easily put myself backwards doing the simplest things like hanging out washing or carrying groceries. I came home yesterday to find hubby in bed, he had been working and ended up being quite ill with food poisoning we think. He has had a cold but is now quite worse so LOL, I am trying to avoid him as much as possible as I know that I will catch it easily after all the sickness I've had recently.
The door handle on the bathroom has been playing up and I've been saying someone was going to get locked in soon. Thursday night we went out for two of our children's birthdays and Adrian hopped in the shower to get ready and LOL he couldn't get out of the bathroom. He had to force his way out with a pair of scissors. He took the handle off altogether so today I went down to the hardware store and bought a replacement and put it in myself. Privacy at last from any of the kids dropping in and not checking if someone is in there!!!
Anyway, I had better get on and share my DT card for 613 Avenue Create this week. We have two teams and my turn is today. Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine and the theme is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of using a school supply (pencils, staples etc)  I've used a star shaped paperclip.

I've been wanting to try a circular sidestep card for a while. I attempted one a few months ago and messed it up so I tried again and am pleased with this one, it actually sits properly.
Here it is...... I thought I could add a name to the little report card tag later when I give this to my oldest granddaughter who loves to read.

Recipe:
SU Early Espresso Cardstock
DP is from Prima Marketing 6x6 paper pad  - Forever Yound
Image is Eleanor Bookworm from Lacy Sunshine - I coloured her and then cut around her leaving a tiny edge of white so I could get the little curls and the shoelaces in.
Dies used were Grand Nestie Circles and the oval  is from Nellie Snellen
Sentiment element, ruler and Report Card tag are from Kaisercraft 61/2x61/2 paper pad - Class of 87 Collection
Star shaped paper clip is from Office Works
Bling from stash
Handmade flower made from an offcut of the DP
Pearl from stash
Leaves are made with a Cheery Lynn Design die called Olive Branches
Copic Markers
DS tape roller
Tacky Glue

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Challenge #26 ~ Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C198 ~ Back to School
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog - Challenge #54 ~ Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Challenge #19 ~ Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - Shape it up

The Design Team members are looking forward to checking out all the fab entries and we would love to see yours there so get crafty and make something to suit the theme, it's an easy one and link it up over at 613 Avenue Create. Hope to see you there!

PSC86 - Favourite technique at Perfect Sentiments Challenge

The Design Team have had a break for the past month at the Perfect Sentiment Challenge Blog and we are all renewed and ready to face the rest of the year. We've still been busy creating just like you and looking forward to seeing your entries again. So please pop by our blogs and check out what we've been doing. We would love to know you've been so please leave a comment.
This week we are asking you all to share a favourite technique and don't forget we still need to see your sentiment on the front of your card as well.
There was also a DT call during our break so you can look forward to "seeing" some new faces on the team soon too.
I've used Paper Embroidery on my card. It is high on my list of favourite techniques and can be combined with lots of other techniques to make wonderful cards and artwork. I even used it on some of my layout pages in my wedding photo album!!!
Well onto my card for this week..... I made this into a belated birthday card because Kitty looks a little bit guilty about something. She has a retro feel so I kept the sentiment and the two little hearts in the same feel by just using black ink to stamp them. I popped Kitty up with foam dots and also one of the little hearts too.

Recipe:
SU Peach Parfait cardstock for the cardbase and matte
SU Bashful Blue cardstock for mattes
Pale lilac card from stash
Image is from Robyn's Fetish and is called Katie Kitty
Sentiment is from Close to My Heart
Heart stamp is from SU
Multicoloured Thread from my large stash of threads, LOL.
Copic Markers
Memento Black inkpad
DS tape roller
Foam Dots

I hope you enjoy visiting my fellow teamies and leaving them a comment about their creations and seeing their favourite techniques too. We are all looking forward to sharing yours as well.
Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,
Sandy

I chose this gorgeous card by Loz from Laurel's Crafty Retreat and you can find it here.
Just love the paper embroidery and the die cut and sentiment and those sweet bears. A beautiful card, Loz.

Well, only one today as I have to go and look after my little grandson, he is not 100% well today and still in his PJ's so off to change him.
Don't forget to pop in to my teamie's blogs and leave them some blog love!!! We all enjoy hearing what you think of our cards.
And another important point is the reason we have our linky party and that is to hop on over to some of the other entrants and leave a comment as well. It's a fun way of enjoying other people's creativity and getting inspiration as well and if you are chosen as the winning commenter, you get a great prize too!

So get out your supplies and show us your wonderful work.
